RULES OF USE OF THE LIBRARY

The Library of the József Attila Cultural Centre functions as a public and a school library. Each citizen that respects the rules of use can resort to the services of the library with a valid reader’s card.

OPENING HOURS

Adult library:

Monday - Friday: 8.00 am – 5.00 pm
Saturday: 9.00 am – 12.00 am

School library:

Monday - Friday: 7.30 am – 4.30 pm
Saturday: Closed

Services

Free services:

• visiting the library
• information about the collection of the library
• using the computer catalogue of the library by the help of the librarian
• inter-library lending
• using the local history section on the spot
• reading magazines
• visiting programmes
• using the handbook collection of the library
• selective dissemination of information, writing a bibliography
• resorting to the audovisual equipments (TV, DVD PLAYER )
• free use of the Internet for primary school pupils
• providing spots for programmes and seasonal exhibitions

Services to be paid for:

• using the computers and the Internet (100Ft/hour)
• printing ( black and white A4 – 15Ft/page, coloured A4 – 120Ft/page)
• xeroxing (black and white A4 – 8Ft/page, coloured A4 – 70Ft/page)
• scanning ( 15Ft/page)

Enrolling and lending-library rules

Each library user must give his/her particulars if the librarian asks him/her for. He/She has to prove his/her identity by showing his/her identity card. Particulars are handled in confidence. The reader has to say if either his/her name, address or workplace has changed. Enrolling is free. You can take out the borrowable documents only with a valid reader’s card.

Lending - numbers at a time:

Adult library: 5 pieces
School library: 3 pieces

Lending term:

Books :   28 days

The lending term can be extended twice if nobody else wants to borrow the given book.

Fine:

The reader is responsible for the book he/she has taken out of the library with his/her valid reader’s card. If you forget to bring back the book on time, you will get a follow-up letter from us. The letters will be posted according to when the lending term of the book in question is expired.

Booking, inter-library lending:

If the reader looks for a book that has been taken out, he/she can ask the librarian to put it down. If a book cannot be found in the collection of the library, the reader can resort to inter-library lending, which is free.

Lost documents:

If the reader has lost the borrowed document, he/she has the following possibilities of compensation:

• we accept an office copy that is the same in both edition and price as the lost book and it’s in good condition.
• if it can be established, the current - rate
• if it can’t, minimum 1000Ft
• in case of very valuable, rare books three times the current – rate

Documents used on the spot:

The documents that cannot be taken out of the library can be used while the library is open.

These collections are the following:

• handbook collection ( it’s issued with a cognizance)
• local history collection
• magazines

In exceptional cases the document used on the spot – if the librarian permits - can be taken out of the library for the time when the library is closed or for the weekend.

Computerization of the holdings by the help of the Texltib integrated library system started in January 2001
and finished in April 2006. At present one computer is at the readers’ disposal on which the catalogue can be used by the help of the librarian.

 

Please, help the other readers in their quiet library use with your civilized behaviour and quiet talk.

 

The rules of use of the József Attila Cultural Centre’s Library are obligatory for every reader, those who break the rules will probably not allowed to visit the library or borrow documents anymore.

 

About each change in the rules the readers will be informed.
